The Optimist Club of Rockville (also known as the Rockville Optimist Club) is a community service club that has been serving Rockville, Maryland and the surrounding area since 1955. The Club is affiliated with Optimist International (OI). 

OI was established in 1919 and has its headquarters in St. Louis, MO. As of  2007 there are about 3,500 clubs all across the United States, Canada, Caribbean  and Latin America with a total membership of about 114,000.  

The Rockville Optimist Club is part of Maryland/ South Delaware (MD/SD) District of Optimist International. There are nine zones in MD/SD District. The Rockville Optimist Club represents Montgomery County and adjoining areas and belongs to Zone 1 of the Maryland/ South Delaware District.  

The Club does not have a dedicated office or address; instead we meet once a month (usually the 2nd or 3rd Tuesday) at a member's residence or at a local restaurant.  All those who are interested in learning about the Club activities or who wish to support the Club are welcome at these meetings.  See "Current News" for meeting locations or contact one of the people on the "Contact Us" page for information.
